5‑Hour Power Cut In Chennai Today: See List Of Affected Areas

TNEB has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Chennai, including Tambaram, Pallavaram, and Taramani, on June 23 from 9 AM to 2 PM for maintenance. Power will be restored once the work is completed.

Several areas of Chennai will face a scheduled power outage on Monday, June 23, 2025, as announced by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). The power supply will be temporarily suspended from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM due to routine maintenance work. TNEB stated that power will be restored as soon as the maintenance is completed. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the outage period. The list of affected areas will be notified separately.

Tambaram: MES Road, GST Road, Gandhi Road, Ranganathapuram, Irumbuliyur Service Road, Invicon Flat, TTK Nagar, Jerusalem Nagar, Church Road, Ratna Kumar Avenue, Marutham Housing, A.S. Rajan Nagar, G.K. Moopanar Avenue, Chitlapakkam Jyothi Nagar, Chitlapakkam 1st Main Road, Ramachandra Road, Ranganathan Road, Kannadasan Street, Ayyasamy Street.

Pallavaram: Kadapperi Pachaimalai Housing Board, DP Hospital, GST Road, GH New Colony 13-14, 17th Cross Street, Mallika Nagar, VP Vaidyalingam Road, Kattabomman Nagar, RKV Avenue, Thirumurugan Nagar, Manickam Nagar, Wales College Main Road, Bangaru Nagar. Taramani: Adipathi Hospital, CDS Residence (Near Kirias), Taramani Main Road, Tata Consultancy, Ramgiri Nagar, Baby Nagar Area, Shastri Nagar, Park Avenue.

Electricity (Supply) Act 1948 in the State of Tamil Nadu as a vertically integrated utility responsible for power generation, transmission, and distribution. As per the provisions under Section 131 of the Electricity Act, 2003, TNEB was restructured on November 1, 2010, into TNEB Limited, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO), and Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).
