Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and more Maharashtra districts to experience heavy rains: IMD’s 5-day forecast.

After heavy rainfall continued to lash several parts of Maharashtra on September 25, 2024, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for multiple districts across the state.

The Met Department has issued a five-day district-wise forecast for Maharashtra from September 25 to September 29, 2024, highlighting the potential for extremely heavy rainfall in several districts. Schools have also been shut for today owing to the heavy downpour in the Maharashtrian city.

September 25-27 (Wednesday-Friday): The region is expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated places. The likelihood of these conditions occurring is categorised as “Very Likely.”
September 28-29 (Saturday-Sunday): The rainfall is expected to moderate over the weekend, with the probability of moderate rain remaining very likely.

The IMD has advised people in these regions to remain cautious and prepared for potential disruptions caused by heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, including possible waterlogging, flooding, and transportation delays.
