IMD Weather Update: Rain Alert In Tamil Nadu, Cold Wave & Fog Grip North India; Check Forecast For Other States

IMD has predicted severe cold wave conditions across North India during the end of December. A cold day warning has been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh today (Dec 26, 2024).

IMD Weather Update: With the shift in weather patterns, the southern states are bracing for rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms in the last week of December. Among the affected places are Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has advised the residents to stay alert and avoid going out frequently as an active western disturbance is likely to impact different parts of India starting from the 27th of December.

Rain/Snowfall/Thunderstorms Alert Western Himalayan Region:Scattered to fairly widespread rain/Snowfall on December 27 and 28. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh: Isolated to Scattered rain with thunderstorm and lightning on Dec 26 and 27. Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada:Dec 26 to 27.
