Pune will face a full-day water supply shutdown on 3rd April due to essential maintenance work at multiple pumping stations and water treatment plants. Several major areas will be affected, with low-pressure supply expected on the morning of April 4. Pune residents will have to brace for a full-day water supply shutdown on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes urgent maintenance work at key water treatment plants and pumping stations. The supply will resume gradually on Friday, 4th April, but areas may experience low water pressure in the morning, as per Pune Mirror report.

Why Is the Water Cut Necessary? The PMC’s Water Supply Department will carry out crucial electrical, pumping, and structural repairs at multiple locations, including the Parvati Water Treatment Plants (old and new), Bhama Askhed, Holkar Water Centre, Vadgaon Water Centre, Rajiv Gandhi Pumping Station, Warje Water Centre, and other key facilities. The maintenance is aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the city’s water supply system.

Which Areas Will Be Affected?Central Pune: Guruwar Peth, Budhwar Peth, Nana Peth, Lohia Nagar, Mukund Nagar, Ghorpade Peth, Sahakarnagar, Bibwewadi, Maharshinagar, Gangadham, Lake Town, Shivtejanagar, and Upper Indiranagar. Western Pune: Deccan, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Katraj, Ambegaon, Dhankawadi, Hingne, and areas along Sinhagad Road. Eastern Pune: Lohgaon, Viman Nagar, Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Dhanori, and surrounding areas. North-Western Pune: Baner, Balewadi, Bavdhan, parts of Pashan, Aundh, Model Colony, Gokhale Nagar, Kothrud, and Karve Nagar. South-Eastern Pune & IT Hubs: Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Ramtekdi Industrial Area, Kharadi, EON IT Park, Chandan Nagar, and adjoining residential localities.

PMC’s Advisory to Residents The PMC has urged citizens to store sufficient water in advance and touse it judiciously during the outage. While regular supply is expected to resume by Friday afternoon, some areas may still experience low pressure before full restoration.Residents are advised to plan accordingly to minimise inconvenience during the shutdown.
