Operation Sindoor Updates: Police raids in south Kashmir districts for spreading anti-India spin, aiding terrorists

Following an agreement between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan to implement a ceasefire, tensions escalated due to repeated violations by Pakistan. Despite both sides agreeing at 5:00 pm IST to halt all military actions on land, air, and sea, Pakistan breached the understanding within hours by initiating firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector and deploying drones along the border.Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri strongly condemned Pakistan’s actions, asserting that the Indian Armed Forces are retaliating appropriately and have been instructed to respond firmly to any further violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to act responsibly and de-escalate tensions.

Meanwhile during the clash, BSF Sub Inspector Md Imteyaz was killed during cross-border firing in the R S Pura sector. The BSF honored his sacrifice with a wreath-laying ceremony. Separately, at Nagrota Military Station, a sentry engaged a suspect in a brief exchange of fire after noticing suspicious movement. The sentry sustained minor injuries, and a search operation is ongoing.

In diplomatic developments, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval spoke with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Doval stressed India’s resolve to pursue counter-terrorism measures in light of the Pahalgam attack but reiterated that war is not India’s objective. Wang Yi condemned the attack and urged peaceful resolution between India and Pakistan. India continues to maintain a high level of vigilance and readiness amid persistent ceasefire violations and rising cross-border tensions.
