Delhi Traffic Police issues advisory for 9 days

Commuters in North Delhi may experience traffic delays until 25 May due to ongoing repair work on Kathia Baba Marg. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory informing the public about the Public Works Department (PWD) work that has led to traffic restrictions on this road. The repairs are taking place between the SDM/Swaroop Nagar Office, near the NH-44 drain, and Vijay Chowk in the Burari area. As a result, vehicle movement on this stretch of Kathia Baba Marg will remain limited during this period. To help maintain traffic flow and reduce inconvenience, the police have suggested alternative routes for drivers.

Affected Routes:- Kathia Baba Marg: Between SDM/Swaroop Nagar (Nala, NH-44) and Vijay Chowk (Burari side) Alternative Routes:- Commuters starting from SDM/Swaroop Nagar (Nala) can use the route via CC Road towards the Bhalaswa Landfill (Kuda-Khatta), then proceed to Jhanda Chowk, and finally reach Burari Chowk. Alternatively, they can travel from Jhanda Chowk to Gurjar Chowk and continue to Vijay Chowk to reach Burari. Those coming from Vijay Chowk can take Gurudwara Road, then proceed to Gurjar Chowk, Jhanda Chowk, and continue towards the Bhalaswa Landfill (Kuda-Khatta), before reaching Nala.

Travel Advisory: Avoid the affected road and use alternate routes. Be cooperative and patient while the work continues. Follow traffic instructions from police personnel and marshals stationed at diversion points. General Guidelines: Use public transport whenever possible to reduce road congestion. Park only in designated parking areas and avoid roadside parking. Report any suspicious objects or activities to the police immediately. The traffic police have urged motorists to follow road safety norms and cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth commute during this period of road improvement work.
