The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation will carry out the repair work on the Thane-Ghodbunder Highway (State Highway 84) during the three-day period. In view of this, the traffic police have announced alternative routes to ease congestion in the surrounding areas, including Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar.
Movement of heavy vehicles will be temporarily restricted on Ghodbunder Road from August 8 to 10 due to urgent road repair works. The ban will be in place specifically at the Gaimukh Ghat section, where resurfacing and strengthening work is scheduled.

The Kashimira Traffic Department has recommended the temporary restriction of heavy and oversized vehicles on this stretch to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience to the public. These vehicles will be diverted through various alternate routes during the repair period.
Traffic Diversions Announced: Ghodbandar-Thane Route: Vehicles from Palghar-Virar side via NH-4 to Versova will be blocked at Shirsat Phata Alternative route: Shirsat Phata → Parol → Akoli (Ganeshpuri) → Ambadi. Vehicles from Palghar–Vasai side via NH-48 heading to Versova will be blocked at Chinchoti Naka. Alternative route: Chinchoti → Kaman → Kharbav → Anjurphata → Bhiwandi. Vehicles from Mumbai and Kashimira via Western Express Highway going towards Thane/Ghodbunder will also be diverted.
Alternative route: Versova Bridge → NH to Gujarat → Shirsat Phata → Parol → Akoli → Ambadi or Chinchoti → Kaman → Kharbav → Anjurphata → Bhiwandi. Thane–Ghodbunder Route: Heavy vehicles from Mumbai/Than heading towards Ghodbunder Road will be blocked at V junction and Kapurbavdi junction
Alternative route: Via V Junction → Nashik Road → Kharegaon Toll → Mankoli → Anjurphata. Ahmedabad (Gujarat) to Thane/Navi Mumbai Vehicles coming from Ahmedaba via Ghodbunder Road (Kajupada, Gaimukh) will be restricted.
