Amid this monsoon season, malaria cases in Mumbai have crossed over 6,000, while there has been a spike in chikungunya and hepatitis cases as well, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health report stated on Tuesday (September 16). In the national capital, Delhi, there has been a spike reported in malaria and chikungunya cases, according to the report issued by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). In comparison to the reports of 2023 and 2024, Delhi has reported 297 cases of malaria in 2025 so far, while last year during this period, 271 cases were reported.
Moreover, West Delhi has been a major hotspot for malaria, with 50 cases reported so far. Out of these 50, 33 were reported just last week. Meanwhile, chikungunya cases have also spiked with 46 cases reported till now. Last year, only 33 were reported, and 20 in 2023.
