Bengaluru Traffic Police Announce 45-Day ORR Service Road Closure for Metro Work

Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: The section between the 9th Main Road Junction and the 5th Main Road Junction will remain closed for 45 days. The Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced the temporary closure of a stretch of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road to facilitate metro construction by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).

According to the advisory, the section between the 9th Main Road Junction and the 5th Main Road Junction will remain closed for 45 days, beginning on 6 October. The closure is part of ongoing work related to the construction of a metro station along the corridor.

To ease movement, vehicles travelling from Ibblur towards Silk Board Junction have been advised to take alternative routes. Motorists can either use the 14th Main Road flyover and continue along the main carriageway to reach the 5th Main Road Junction, or divert through the internal roads of HSR Layout to proceed towards Silk Board and Hosur Main Road.

Traffic officials have urged commuters to follow the diversion plans and cooperate with authorities to avoid congestion during the construction period. In a separate development, commuters across central Bengaluru are set to experience smoother traffic flow under a new signal synchronisation initiative.

Shetty explained that the coordinated traffic lights allow motorists to enjoy uninterrupted movement and green signals at consecutive junctions during non-peak hours. He described the initiative as a positive step towards improving Bengaluru’s traffic management and reducing delays.
