In view of the Ghatshila Assembly by-election , the district administration and traffic police will enforce special traffic regulations in the city to ensure the smooth dispatch and receipt of EVMs.
Heavy vehicles will be completely restricted from entering or exiting city limits on November 10 and 11.According to the schedule, the ban on heavy vehicle movement will be in force on November 10, from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and November 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.During these periods, only small vehicles, emergency services, and election-related authorised vehicles will be permitted on the roads.
The Traffic DSP said the restrictions are intended to ensure the safe transportation of polling materials and to avoid any disruption to election operations. Additional police deployment will be made along major routes and sensitive locations across the city.The administration has appealed to citizens and transport operators to avoid using heavy vehicles during the specified timings and to make use of alternative routes.
The traffic control room will remain on alert to monitor the situation, and officials have warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules to ensure peaceful and orderly conduct of the election process.
