Bengaluru Police issue New Year’s Eve traffic advisory; major curbs in CBD, Koramangala and Indiranagar.
From 8 pm Dec 31 to 2 am Jan 1, private vehicles are barred from key CBD stretches including MG Road (Anil Kumble Circle–Mayo Hall), Brigade Road, Church Street, Rest House Road and Museum Road, which will turn into pedestrian-only zones; parking is banned on these roads from 4 pm, with towing for violations; all city flyovers except the airport flyover will remain closed from 11 pm to 6 am to prevent speeding and stunts, with 10 drones, 249 Cobra patrol vehicles and 400 traffic wardens deployed.
In Koramangala, traffic will be restricted on Y D Math Road up to Microland Junction and adjoining roads such as JNC Road and 17th H Main, with diversions via Madiwala Checkpost and Water Tank Junction; in Indiranagar and near ITPL, both sides of 100 Feet Road, 12th Main and ITPL Main Road will be no-parking zones; near Mall of Asia and Orion Mall, key service roads will also be no-parking stretches; residents and revellers are advised to avoid driving into these hubs, use Namma Metro/BMTC/cabs, follow designated cab pick-up points, and expect intensive drunk‑driving checks at 166 locations under a zero-tolerance policy.
