Central Railway has announced major disruptions to rail services on the busy Pune–Nagpur corridor this month as part of essential track doubling and infrastructure work on the Daund–Manmad section. Railway authorities have scheduled pre‑non‑interlocking (Pre‑NI) activities from January 4–23, 2026, and full non‑interlocking (NI) work on January 24–25 as part of efforts to enhance line capacity and safety on this strategic route. As a result, a significant number of trains connecting Pune, Nagpur, Amravati and other parts of Vidarbha and western Maharashtra have been cancelled on specific dates during the track work period. Key services affected include:
Garib Rath Express (Pune–Nagpur / Nagpur–Pune)
Humsafar Express (Pune–Ajni / Ajni–Pune)
Pune–Nagpur Express and Pune–Amravati Express
These cancellations, particularly on January 24 and 25, are expected to impact passengers planning travel across the region. Central Railway has urged passengers to check the latest train statuses before travelling, highlighting that the temporary disruptions are necessary to improve operational efficiency and future connectivity on this key rail corridor.
