Pune: Traffic Diversions For Two Days Due To Sambhaji Maharaj Death Anniversary Programme In Vadhu 

Authorities have announced temporary traffic changes in parts of Pune for two days in view of the death anniversary observance of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. According to orders issued by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, traffic in the area of Vadhu Budruk will be diverted from 10 pm on March 17 to 10 pm on March 18, 2026.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Koregaon Bhima towards Chakan and Pabal will be rerouted via Sanaswadi, Shikrapur, Gas Phata and Wajewadi Chowk. Similarly, traffic coming from Chakan-Pabal towards Pune will be diverted along Wajewadi Chowk, Gas Phata, Shikrapur, Sanaswadi and Koregaon Bhima.

Restrictions have also been placed on vehicles of devotees visiting the event. Vehicles coming from the Koregaon Bhima side will not be allowed beyond designated stopping points near the venue. Likewise, vehicles approaching via Chakan and Pabal routes will be halted at parking points on the Vadhu–Wajewadi Chowk road.

However, the restrictions will not apply to VVIP, VIP and government vehicles, as stated in the official order. Authorities have urged commuters to follow the diversions and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
