Residents in Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar will face a 24-hour water supply disruption due to Metrowater’s pipeline work in Nungambakkam. The maintenance is scheduled on Uttamar Gandhi Salai and Sterling Road in Nungambakkam. The shutdown will begin at 10 AM on March 29 and continue until 10 AM on March 30,Metrowater has announced that the Valluvar Kottam, South Chennai, and Kilpauk (TM7 & TM8) water distribution stations will remain temporarily non-operational during this period.

Areas expected to be affected include Choolaimedu, Nungambakkam, T Nagar, Kodambakkam, West Mambalam, Ashok Nagar, KK Nagar, and parts of Saidapet and Mylapore. Residents are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance. Moreover, the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) announced a temporary suspension of water supply in several areas due to scheduled maintenance work at the Nemeli desalination plant. The maintenance took place from March 21 to 26, affecting water distribution across multiple localities. The water supply was scheduled to be disrupted in phases, with some areas experiencing cuts during the first three days and others during the last three days of the maintenance period. The affected localities included Adyar, Perungudi, and Sholinganallur.
