Bengaluru Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON Temple on August 15–16, restricting drop-offs on West of Chord Road and suggesting alternative routes to ease congestion.
In anticipation of a huge rush at the ISKON Temple junction on August 16 for Janmashtami Puja, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for commuters. According to them, there will be no drop-off and pick-up facility along the West of Cord Road from GSF Circle (Jet Lag) to Rajajinagar 1st block Junction. To avoid thexpected traffic jam, commuters can use alternative routes, as suggested by the city traffic police.
The restriction will be in place from 8 am to 10 pm on August 15 and August 16 in view of the Sri Krishna Janmasthami Puja.Traffic Advisory Notice. Due to Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON Temple located on West of Chord Road on 15.08.2025 and 16.08.2025, there will be heavy traffic congestion on the roads surrounding the temple. The public is requested to cooperate,” said the Bengaluru Traffic Police in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
In an official notification, the Bengaluru Traffic Police said the pick-up and drop-off are allowed in the opposite direction (Mahalakshmi entrance junction to the soap factory junction) during celebrations of Janmashtami 2025.
Moving from GSF Circle (Jet lag) towards Rajajinagar 1st block Junction via west of Cord Road, it is advised to use Dr. Rajkumar Road and 10th Cross Road or 14th Cross Road to join west of Cord Road for ease in traffic movement.
