In a bid to decongest Bengaluru’s Old Madras Road and the KR Puram police station road (New Police Station), authorities have introduced new traffic restrictions effective immediately. Commuters are advised to note the following changes:
The road from BBMP Junction on Old Madras Road to the Veterinary Hospital near KR Puram law and order police station is now a one-way. The U-turn at BBMP Junction on Old Madras Road has been closed.
Vehicles traveling from Old Madras Road to KR Puram, TC Palya, and Anandapura via KR Puram law and order police station should take a free left turn and proceed accordingly.
BMTC buses heading from ITI Gate to Hoskote must drop passengers at the bus stop near Sri Rama Hospital.
Changes for BMTC Buses:
Buses traveling from ITI Gate to Diesel Shed Road should take a U-turn at the Government College Junction before proceeding to the depot.
Routes for City-Bound Vehicles:
Vehicles from Anandapura and KR Puram Village heading to the city should take a left near Kote Venkataramana Swamy Temple, proceed via Old Madras Road, and take a U-turn near GRT.
Vehicles from TC Palya to the city should turn left at Muniyappa Garden, proceed via Government College Road, and reach the Government College Junction.
These measures aim to streamline traffic flow in the area, reduce congestion, and improve commuting experiences. Commuters are urged to follow the new routes and cooperate with traffic authorities.https://www.oneindia.com/bengaluru/bengaluru-traffic-alert-old-madras-road-closed-for-two-way-traffic-new-routes-announced-3991207.html?utm_source=JioNews&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=JioNews
