Exact Position of Low-Pressure Area A low-pressure area that developed over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal at 8:30 am on Monday is expected to move northwestwards over the southwest Bay of Bengal until April 8. It is then likely to shift northwards over the west-central Bay of Bengal over the following 48 hours, according to B. Amudha, Deputy Director-General (additional charge) of the Regional Meteorological Centre, IMD, On April 8, districts including Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated locations. Between April 9 and 13, light to moderate rain is expected at isolated places across the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal regions.
