Cyclone Fengal Affects Mumbai Weather; IMD Issues Rain Alert For Many Maharashtra Districts

Cyclone Fengal, which made its landfall in Puducherry on Nov. 30 , has now affected Mumbai weather after battering most of the southern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for several districts of Maharashtra due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal.

Rains Predicted In Maharashtra Over The Next Few Days in several areas of Maharashtra, including Pune and Kolhapur. On Wednesday, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds with speeds of 30 kmph to 40 kmph at isolated places are likely in Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, and Ghats of Kolhapur.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. It is likely to move west-northwestwards over eastcentral Arabian Sea during the next 2 days It is likely to maintain the intensity for next 12 hours and weaken gradually thereafter.
