Kolkata Weather: Kolkata is expected to witness rainfall over the next few days due to a cyclonic circulation from Bangladesh. The IMD has issued alerts, forecasting wet weather across West Bengal and neighbouring regions. Kolkata: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain alerts for 18 states, including West Bengal, with showers expected to continue until March 15. The weather change is linked to two cyclonic circulations, one from Iraq and another from Bangladesh, that are advancing towards India, promising much-needed relief from rising temperatures.
Cyclones from Iraq and Bangladesh to Drive Rainfall The first cyclone, originating in Iraq, is moving towards northern India and is expected to bring rain to Delhi-NCR and surrounding regions. Meanwhile, the second cyclone is approaching from neighbouring Bangladesh, set to bring rain to eastern and northeastern states, including West Bengal, as per a HT report. Rainfall Forecast Across Regions According to IMD predictions, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are likely to witness rainfall, heavy snowfall, and thunderstorms from March 10 to 15. Punjab and Haryana may experience rain with thunderstorms and lightning on March 12 and 13, while Rajasthan is expected to receive showers between March 13 and 15.
