Delhi traffic advisory today: Routes affected due to rally at Ramlila Maidan

A major traffic advisory has been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police in view of a rally organised at Ramlila Maidan on March 24, 2026. The event is scheduled to take place from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is expected to draw many participants.

Traffic restrictions will be imposed depending on the situation on the ground. According to officials:

  • Movement on JLN Marg may be regulated or restricted
  • Vehicles from Ajmeri Gate towards Ramlila Maidan via Asaf Ali Road may not be allowed
  • Commuters can use JLN Marg for onward travel in some stretches

Heavy vehicles and buses coming from north and west Delhi will be diverted from Rani Jhansi Chowk towards Rani Jhansi Road and Panchkuian Road.

PARKING RULES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT ADVISORY

Authorities have also issued clear parking instructions to manage congestion:

  • Visitors can park at Mata Sundari College parking
  • Buses will drop passengers at Delhi Gate and park at designated spots like Rajghat or Power House
  • No buses will be allowed beyond Delhi Gate towards JLN Marg

Additionally, no parking will be permitted on key roads such as JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Minto Road, DDU Marg, and Chaman Lal Marg. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed and penalised.

With congestion expected from as early as 6:00 AM, commuters should take extra precautions:
