Advisory for Nearby Parents Regarding School Safety
Parents who live close to the school and are responsible for picking up and dropping off their children should extend their awareness and help to other students for increased safety. Here’s how:
- Watch Over All Kids as Your Own: Be mindful of all the children near the school, especially as it is located near a busy road. Treat the safety and well-being of other children with the same care as your own.
- Coordinate with Other Parents: Keep in communication with other parents, especially those who may have children arriving by van or bus. If you see a child in need or arriving early or late, assist them until their guardian arrives.
- Road Safety Vigilance: Pay extra attention to road safety. Ensure that children crossing or walking near the road are supervised and safe. If you notice any potentially dangerous situations, act quickly to prevent accidents.
- Help with Pickups and Drop-offs: Offer to help other parents who may be late or have difficulty with pick-ups. This creates a safer and more supportive environment for all children.
- Community Safety Network: Create a neighborhood support network where parents can take turns or collaborate to watch over kids during peak pick-up and drop-off times, ensuring no child is left unattended near the road.
- Monitor the School Gate: If possible, volunteer to monitor the school gate during busy times to ensure children safely enter and exit the school premises.
- Teach Safe Habits: Encourage children to follow safe practices, such as using crosswalks, avoiding running near the road, and staying within designated areas while waiting for parents or the school van.
Please share this advisory with our group to raise awareness and ensure a safe environment for our community’s children.
