The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted strong thunderstorms, rain, and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from March 25 to 28. This comes following a new western disturbance from March 24 night. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience thunderstorms with rain from March 25 to 27. The weather agency expects heavy rainfall and snowfall at isolated places over Kashmir and heavy rainfall over Jammu on March 26.
Heavy rainfall and snowfall is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh on March 28 and 29.The IMD said the maximum temperature in North West India may increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the next two to three days. At the same time, there is a possibility of an increase in temperature by 2-3 degrees in Central India and interior Maharashtra. The IMD has issued a yellow alert in Saurashtra, Kutch, and western Rajasthan amid rising temperatures.
The IMD said heat wave conditions is very likely in isolated pockets of southwest Rajasthan and Gujarat region on March 25 and over interior Odisha between March 29 and 31. It said hot and humid weather conditions is very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of coastal areas of Gujarat on March 25 and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during March 27 to 29.
