The IMD has issued a weather alert for the entire state of Telangana, warning of rain, lightning, and gusty winds till at least Wednesday, June 11. Though no measurable rain was recorded in Hyderabad between Saturday and
Sunday morning, the skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy this week. Isolated spells of rain are likely, with peak thunderstorm activity anticipated in the afternoons and evenings. The cloud cover is also expected to help keep daytime temperatures in check, with the maximum likely to hover around 36°C and minimums around 26°C.
On Sunday, Hyderabad recorded a high of 37.5°C—marginally above normal—and a low of 25.6°C. Morning humidity was relatively high at 65%, but dipped to 45% by evening, contributing to sultry conditions through the day.
The arrival of pre-monsoon showers is expected to provide some respite from the lingering summer heat. The IMD has advised residents across Telangana to remain cautious during stormy conditions, especially in open areas
vulnerable to lightning and squalls. All districts of the state are likely to witness weather disturbances, with possible
duststorms also in the mix.
Looking ahead, the forecast from June 8 to 11 includes partly cloudy skies with intermittent showers and thunderstorms. From June 12 onward, the weather may turn generally cloudy, with an increased likelihood of widespread rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures between 34°C and 35°C. The sun will continue to rise around 5:41 am and set close to 6:49 pm, while moonrise times will gradually shift, starting from 4:24 pm over the coming days, IMD noted.
