Indefinite strike called for autos, cabs in Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur over meter-based fare system

Pune: The Indian Gig Workers Front has called for an indefinite strike for cabs and autorickshaws run by aggregators in three cities: Pune, Mumbai, and Nagpur.

Front president Keshav Kshirsagar told TOI, “The cabs’ strike started on Thursday, and autorickshaws will join them from the evening. Our demands are that state govt make the meter-based fare system approved by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) visible in cabs and cancel the order to allow e-bike taxis to operate in the state. This is an indefinite strike.”
