According to a report by TOI, the highest tide of this year’s monsoon season is predicted for June 26. On this day, waves are expected to reach a formidable height of 4.75 metres.
In response to the forecast, the BMC has strongly urged the public to stay away from the seashore. Citizens are advised not to visit beaches, promenades, and other coastal areas during the high tide periods to prevent any mishaps.To ensure residents are well-informed, the city’s disaster management department has published a full schedule detailing the dates and specific timings of the upcoming tidal events.
The BMC also noted that this is part of a broader pattern for the rainy season. A total of 19 significant high tides are anticipated to occur along the Mumbai coast during the four-month monsoon period, which runs from June until September.
