Mumbai is expected to receive heavy rain on Friday, August 19, with the India Meteorological Deartment (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for the day. Rain in Mumbai has disrupted the traffic on the key routes. Several parts of the city, especially low-lying areas, were waterlogged, causing trouble to the residents. As per the Met Office, there will be light to moderate rain this week.

Heavy rains in the areas around Mumbai’s lakes have increased the water levels in the lakes that supply drinking water to the city. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), as of Wednesday, August 27, the seven lakes together hold 14,00,219 million litres of water, which is 96.74% of their full capacity. This means the lakes are almost full, and the city has a strong water supply for now.The weather will remain mostly cloudy with moderate rainfall expected throughout the day. No official warning has been issued, so the situation is likely to be manageable.
Rain is forecasted again, but like the previous day, it is expected to be of regular intensity. No official warning has been issued, indicating a low chance of severe weather impacts.
