Why will Navi Mumbai face water cut?
The NMCC stressed that a new water pipeline to the Master Balancing Reservoir (MBR) at the Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant has been installed, adding that new valves are also being installed on the Morbe main transmission pipeline.
The NMCC has urged citizens to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly during the shutdown period. An official from NMMC’s Engineering Department stated that these works are crucial for strengthening Navi Mumbai’s water distribution network and ensuring a more reliable supply in the future.
10 per cent water supply cut in Mumbai
Last month, several areas across Mumbai saw a 10 per cent water cut for three days as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out maintenance and upgradation work at the Pise water treatment plant near Bhiwandi. The BMC was installing an electricity meter at the 100 KW power station that powers the plant. The power supply was affected from October 7 to October 9.
