At least nine schools in the national capital received bomb threat calls and emails on Monday, triggering panic among students, parents and school authorities. The threat messages warned of an explosion later in the day, around 1:11 pm. According to Delhi Police, the messages were received between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, following which emergency protocols were immediately activated. Police teams, fire department officials and bomb disposal squads were rushed to the affected school premises.
According to Police, thorough searches were conducted at all locations. As a precautionary measure, students and staff were evacuated in some schools, while classes were suspended in others. No suspicious object has been found so far.
As per Delhi Police, the threat email carried provocative language and extremist references. The message claimed that “Delhi will become Khalistan” and mentioned “Khalistan National Army.” It also included references to Afzal Guru.
Security has been stepped up across sensitive areas in the capital as a precaution. citizens are advised to not to panic and to rely only on official information as the investigation continues.
