This underpass is the only one in the 10.58-km coastal road project and is designed to help with future traffic. Those coming from the Sewri-Worli elevated corridor will also be able to use it to reach the western suburbs or the southern parts of Mumbai directly, saving time.

Once open, the underpass will only be used by vehicles coming from Dadar and Prabhadevi. This will help reduce traffic in the Worli area. Drivers will have two options after entering the underpass: they can go towards Bandra or continue towards Marine Drive and Nariman Point.
