Prohibitory orders imposed in Pune rural areas till April 4

The order prohibits making inflammatory speeches that may endanger decency or morality or endanger the security of the state or incite to overthrow the state.

In order to maintain law and order in Pune Rural District, Additional District Magistrate Jyoti Kadam today issued prohibitory orders under Section 37 (1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 from 12.05 am on March 22 to 12 am on April 4, 2025. According to the order, carrying any incendiary or explosive substances, carrying stones or weapons or instruments to be thrown, any object that can be used to cause bodily harm, displaying and burning the picture of any person, symbolic corpses or pictures of leaders, giving loud slogans, playing musical instruments has been prohibited.

The order prohibits making inflammatory speeches that may endanger decency or morality or endanger the security of the state or incite to overthrow the state. Any violation of the said orders will invite punishment under section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act 1951, the police said. It prohibits distribution of articles among the public and prohibits behaving in a manner that may endanger law and order, including gathering more than five people under sub-section (3) of section 37 and Section 37(1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
