Three Highways on Alert As per the advisory, considerable slowdowns are predicted on the following routes Bengaluru–Mumbai National Highway (NH-48): Heavy traffic expected from Kolhapur towards Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Mira-Bhayandar.Nashik–Pune National Highway (NH-50): Anticipated increase in vehicle movement from Nashik via Chakan towards Pune.Solapur–Pune National Highway (NH-65): Anticipated heavy traffic from Solapur heading towards Pune and nearby areas.
Officials have recommended that travelers avoid the hours of 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., as these times are expected to see the highest traffic volumes. Motorists are also urged to adhere to lane discipline, refrain from reckless driving, and cooperate with police personnel stationed along critical routes.
The advisory, collaboratively issued by the Superintendent of Police (State Highways, Pune), the Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, emphasizes a coordinated traffic management strategy to address the expected increase in intercity travel following the Diwali celebrations.
Traffic units will be on duty around the clock to manage traffic flow, assist commuters in emergencies, and respond to breakdowns or accidents.Authorities have also urged residents to consider alternative routes and stay informed about live traffic updates through the social media channels of Pune Police and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police.
