Just ahead of Republic Day 2026 celebration, police in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district have seized thousands of kilograms of explosive material from a farmhouse and arrested one man under the Explosives Act. The operation comes at a time when intelligence agencies across the country are on high alert following recent reports of multiple terror threat inputs linked to January 26, police officials said.
Nagaur Superintendent of Police (SP) Mridul Kachhawa told ANI that the district police acted on specific intelligence about illegal storage of explosives and recovered a huge cache of ammonium nitrate along with detonators and fuse wires. A case has been registered under provisions of the Explosives Act and organised crime laws.
Intelligence inputs trigger late-night operation
Police said they had been receiving information for some time about large quantities of explosive material being bought, sold and stored in Nagaur district. Acting on these inputs, a police team carried out a late-night operation in Harsaur village and arrested Suleman Khan from a farmhouse where the explosives were stored.
Addressing a press conference, Kachhawa said, “For quite some time, the Nagaur police had been receiving intelligence reports indicating that large quantities of explosive materials were being bought, sold, and stored in the district… Yesterday, the district police carried out a major operation… In the operation, one person, Suleman Khan, an accused in this case, has been arrested.
