Two Terrorists Killed Along LoC in J&K’s Kupwara, Infiltration Bid Foiled

An infiltration bid was foiled along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara, and two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces.

Two terrorists were killed by security forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.The encounter broke out in the forest area of Kumbkadi near the LoC, where a joint team of security forces had launched an operation following suspicious movement.

Suspicious movement was noticed by the Indian Army along the LoC in the Kumbkadi area of Kupwara district late last evening.Following this, the security forces cordoned the area and launched a search operation. During the ensuing operation, contact was established with infiltrating terrorists, leading to an exchange of fire.

The infiltration bid was foiled, and two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces.Earlier on Monday, an army officer was killed and four others were injured when their vehicle overturned near Gamnewala village in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district.

A 33-year-old Major, a native of Andhra Pradesh, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Ramgarh hospital. Four others, including a Lieutenant Colonel, two Major rank officers and the driver, sustained injuries.Assistant Sub-Inspector Achalram said that the vehicle lost control at a turn and overturned.
